Just make sure you're doing this on a post-RIP patch lest you find out what happens when a county doesn't have enough names for a new holding. Lots of ways to throw a wrench in the works of CK2. I didn't know that but it doesn't surprise me at all. Once you close the message, the new castle holding is added in a new holding slot even though there are no holding slots available. Go and start building something in that empty holding slot so that all holding slots are occupied.

If the county in question only has 1 empty holding slot, when you get the message that the castle has been built, do NOT close the message. This is kind of off topic, but there is an exploit regarding that WoL event. The Reaper's Due event adds a new, empty holding slot to the county.
